Customizing Clothes

My daughter ripped the knees of a perfectly good pair of jeans (that cost a bob or two), and as I was not prepared just to throw it away

I asked her what length she would find comfortable for shorts and cut off the legs - easy. The edges will fray quite naturally and she gets more wear out of it.

I actually really want a pair of cut-off denim shorts, but only owning two pairs of jeans I can't justify cutting into them! And it doesn't seem right to actually buy a pair... must keep checking the charity shops!

It's actually far harder than I anticipated to make decent cut offs, I think because so many of my jeans are tight at the thigh (either skinnies or flares) they just don't flatter me cut down. But I guess that's not a problem for teens!
